Most implant journeys for patients flying from the UK, Ireland or Germany are planned as one or two stays in Izmir — not a single mystery “package day”. The number of trips depends on bone, whether you need grafting, and whether you want temporary teeth at surgery. This guide explains the usual patterns so you can plan holidays and work around real healing, not marketing slogans.
Why implants are rarely a same-week finish
An implant needs time to integrate with bone before the final crown or bridge is locked in. Clinics that promise every case finished in three days are either fitting only temporary teeth, using specific immediate-load protocols that not every mouth qualifies for, or overselling.
At MSA Smile International we map visits after CBCT and a clinical plan — then you book flights around that plan, not the other way round.
Common pattern: two trips
This is the most common path for single implants and many multi-tooth cases. Exact nights in Turkey depend on surgery complexity and laboratory scheduling.
- Trip 1: assessment, CBCT if not already done, implant placement, temporary teeth when indicated
- Healing at home: often roughly 3–6 months depending on the site and protocol
- Trip 2: abutments and final porcelain or zirconia restorations
- Remote aftercare questions between visits via WhatsApp or email
When one longer stay can work
One-trip plans still need honest discussion about what is provisional versus final. Ask which teeth are temporary and when the definitive work is delivered.
- Simpler extractions-and-immediate plans after careful assessment
- Cases already planned with recent imaging and a clear prosthetic design
- Patients who can stay long enough for soft-tissue checks before flying home
Full-arch All-on-4 / All-on-6
See our All-on-4 and All-on-6 pages for candidacy and visit outlines. Full-arch work is almost always staged — budget for two flights unless your clinician documents a different protocol.
- First stay: surgery and provisional fixed bridge when clinically appropriate
- Healing period at home with written aftercare
- Second stay: final bridge once integration and gums allow
